Behind the Walls:
Silo Concrete Inspection, Mount Maunganui
At Champion Flour Mills in Mount Maunganui, Boundless Access provided specialist rope access support for a detailed concrete inspection of Wheat Bin. The silo, built 40–50 years ago, showed its age in the concrete mix, including what appeared to be the imprint of shells from the original material. Accessing the interior surfaces would have required extensive scaffolding or elevated platforms, but our team delivered a safe, efficient solution using rope access techniques.
Our highly trained technicians completed the inspection of six concrete wheat bins with minimal disruption to site operations, reducing costs while significantly limiting exposure to height risks. Every surface, joint, and potential defect was assessed thoroughly, ensuring the highest standards of safety and precision.
At Boundless Access, we deliver The Unconventional Standard in access — combining technical expertise, safety, and innovative solutions to reach the places others can’t.

Hard-to-reach? Not for us. Safe, efficient, and by the book.
A Boundless technician begins entry into Wheat Bin, carefully deploying rope access techniques to reach the interior surfaces of this 40–50-year-old structure. The inspection focuses on assessing the condition of the concrete, including the unique imprints from the original mix, while maintaining the highest safety standards. Using rope access allows the team to safely and efficiently navigate areas that would otherwise require extensive scaffolding, minimising risk and disruption to ongoing site operations.
